The Heart of Promised by God
Promised by God was birthed from a dream and a promise from God. The name came to me long before I fully understood its meaning, until I encountered The Gospel of Luke 1:45: “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her.”
That scripture became the foundation of this vision and a reminder that God is always faithful to fulfill His promises.
Our mission is to inspire and empower dancers to pursue their passion without compromising their faith or values. We believe dance is a gift created by God and can be used as a powerful form of worship, healing, expression, and ministry.
At Promised by God, we are committed to cultivating a Christ-centered environment where dancers can grow artistically, spiritually, and confidently in who God has called them to be
Founder: Yaz
My love for dance began at the age of 14 after being inspired by films such as Step Up and Honey. I immediately began training in multiple styles including ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, lyrical, jazz, Afro, and more. By the age of 21, I was dancing professionally and later moved to Atlanta to pursue a full-time career in the entertainment industry.
Although I had opportunities to dance with well-known artists and perform around the world, I found myself feeling unfulfilled and spiritually empty. During that season, God began drawing me closer to Him and transforming my heart. Through that journey, I realized that the path I was on no longer aligned with the purpose He had for my life.
Stepping away from the industry was not easy, and at the time, I was uncertain about what the future would hold. But through God’s grace, He restored my passion for dance and revealed a new purpose for it: worship.
